While the Port of Savannah is no stranger to setting records for cargo volume, those records have been a little harder to come by in recent months due to the slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
That changed last month.
During August the port handled 441,600 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) marking not only the best August on record, but the best overall month on record in the history of the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA).
